Dreams

November 24, 2008

The immaterial ones, not the far-off-goals one. Suffice to say, I don’t sleep in just to be lazy. I also sleep in to experience the ending of my dreams. At a certain point late in my sleep cycle, I’m almost guaranteed to have some type of weird dream that I can remember after I wake up.

This morning, I dream’t that my grandfather, uncle, and I were on a 3d version of the Orc Dungeon field, about to kill monsters Grand Chase style. However, they both headed to the map to the right. When I followed them there, the map became a large mall of sorts. My grandfather went into some music/video store while my uncle simply disappeared. Then next thing I knew, the mall became half an airport and my dad and brother were there. I was waiting in what seemed to be a lobby with our bags when someone asked me to sweep the floor near some window. I remarked that it wasn’t my job, and the person said something along the lines of it wasn’t a matter of whether it was my job or not, to which I responded that I didn’t want to do it regardless. After that, I was outside and boarding a bus that took us maybe 50 feet away from the lobby, at which point I got off and walked back to the lobby. I remember looking at my watch and seeing that it was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We started walking through a suburb and came upon a high school where the school uniform looked more like a parishoner’s clothes. We walked on in another neighborhood when I looked at my watch again and lamented at the fact that I was missing one of my more important Wednesday classes. Sometime during that walk, my dad carried with him two swords, one was a falchion shaped blade while the other was a standard sized katana. After a while, he lets me carry the falchion. Both blades are protected by putting them between two tomes of manga, the only one I clearly recognized being Rurouni Kenshin. At the very end, I wondered if we were lost. And then I woke up.

I don’t know what that dream is supposed to mean, nor do I really care, but dreams like these happen on a daily basis, even if I can’t remember them all the time. maybe I should see a psychologist or something o_O.
