Old habits die hard

Well actually, there’s a slightly amusing story as to why I’ve suddenly gone back to back-posting my posts. So I was doing two posts yesterday night to make up for the fact that I missed Friday’s posting as well. So I drank a can of soda to stay awake and started my writing.

I posted a filler for Friday and got to making a semi-boring post about OCD habits for Saturday. Caffiene does really weird things after a while, one of the side effects being that you completely lose all your energy some time afterwards, known as a crash. While I was writing the second post, I ran out of ideas, so I took a break and lied on the couch for a minute.

The next thing I knew, I woke up on the floor at 6am with no memory as to why I was sleeping on the floor. Naturally, that second post was never finished. When I went back to read the unfinished post, I wondered whether there might’ve been something else in that can of coke. That’s another post that’ll sleep forever in the draft section of my admin panel!

I’ll probably do a double filler tomorrow night to get back on schedule.

Sleep Schedule Shifting

Pure text post! Since the start of summer break, my sleeping habits have shifted to levels more suited to nocturnal animals. From a normal 7am – 12am awake time to 2pm – 4am awake time. There is no particular reason behind it, but I for one feel that my most productive time is in the middle of the night. However, this schedule is still shifting, as I’m starting to sleep at 6am. One problem with being awake at this time is, well, no one else is awake. In light of this issue, I’ve looked into two possible ways to remedy this growing problem.

1. Sleep as early as possible in order to force the times to shift backwards
2. Force myself to stay awake until the next night, thus sleeping at the correct time

Hmm, lets make a little chart to see how these two look side by side starting at 1am (right now). Bold means hours that I’ll be awake.

Method #1 -

Both are perfectly viable ways to achieve my goal of waking up at 8am and both will take at least 30 hours to work. I’m not going to try either one just yet, but I will have to do something soon.
