My RO History IV

After a year’s worth of experience WoEing in Insur and with Holyexe up and running, I took a leave of absence from Insur to rejoin HE and fulfill my personal obligation of being there in its rebirth.

Resurrecting a guild is not a very easy task to accomplish and there are many things that can go awry in remaking a guild, many of which can lead to a failed attempt at recreating the feel of an original guild (a situation I’m far too acquainted with). V did an excellent enough job of establishing a decently active roster that by the time the initial group from Pestilence went back, HE was thriving on its own.

As an old member coming into an old guild with new people, I spent the next week or two getting to know everyone in the guild and lend a hand whenever the situation permitted.

As an officially tenured Insur member on leave, I was obligated to return when my champ hit lvl80, so at the end of my two week stay in HE, I bid everyone farewell and rejoined Insur once again. However, I didn’t stay very long, partly due to internal turmoil in Insur. Some time after returning to Insur, I left one last time to join HolyExe for good.

WoE was an important part of what HolyExe was built around, and as an aspiring WoE guild at the time, we participated at every chance we got. At the time of my second arrival, HolyExe was allied to two equally new WoE guilds: Sorano and .r i o t.. After a bit of guild merging drama that ensued from .r i o t., they were dropped from our small alliance and basically forgotten.

Sorano and HolyExe were pretty close as far as allies went. We shared the same forums, WoEd together, and sometimes (?) even went to events together. This codependance lasted for a few months, during which time HolyExe grew much larger than Sorano. After a brief but major incident involving the shared forums and V, we broke ties with Sorano and moved to our own forums.

==========

On May 3rd 2007, after I tipped V off on the whereabouts of the first HE forums, we officially moved there. As a relatively new member in the eyes of the now established roster of HolyExe, I spent the next week or so settling into the order of the guild. As a former member and co-leader of the first iteration of HolyExe, I was given a title higher up on the list and, consequently, a higher social status within the guild, being on the top 5 characters in the guild list. While still ally-less at that particular moment, we would soon enter into an alliance with Ragnarstar, Divinus, and Lost Souls; an alliance we would be known as for the better portion of the next 6 months.

As the main guild recruiter since February, I made an effort to get along with every person I recruited, sorta like a guild guide in case they needed anything. My advice wasn’t limited to just new recruits either; I loved giving advice to anyone who needed it. As a result, I maintained a cordial friendship with most of the members in the guild. And just who were the members of the guild? *cheats and looks at forum member listing*
